Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Norwex SESL Academy in Dallas, Texas. SESL Academy is a leadership training program that Norwex puts on every year for the top leaders (Red Jacket and above) in our company. This leadership training is an amazing way that Norwex invests in their senior leadership. Norwex covers the hotel and all the training, and the Red Jackets just have to pay for their airfare. Typically, there is training from the head office and they ask a Senior Vice President Sales Leader to come in and do training as well. This year, I had the honor of being asked to train at the event!

During my trip to Dallas, I was reminded just how much I love training and helping other leaders grow.  Seeing the lightbulb go off when I am sharing my experience and what I’ve learned over the last year is what keeps me up at night and is truly my favorite part of this job. It’s kind of hard to believe because I was the person who dropped out of speech freshman year of college on the way to my first day of class. To go from then to now, where I can stand in front of a room of all sizes (sometimes with as many as couple thousand people) and confidently say “you know what, I love it, I’m not afraid anymore” is such an amazing feeling. I truly just love pouring into people!

At my training session during this years Norwex SESL Academy, I spoke about recruiting by sharing the business opportunity, building leaders in your organization, and how to have a family/work blend in your business. All of these topics are important for a successful direct sales business, but the training I did on the blend of work and family really seemed to resonate with everyone in the room. When I shared what a blessing it’s been to have my daughter working with me and how my greatest success in this business has been watching Isabel be blessed by the experience of watching her mom grow, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

During the two day event at Norwex SESL Academy, we also had the opportunity to go to the Norwex warehouse. It was such a fun experience because we were actually able to take a gun and go out to work within their system. We then went on to load the boxes and learn what it’s like to be in the warehouse packaging up and shipping Norwex products to our customers.

Throughout Norwex SESL Academy, it was such a joy to meet and spend time with so many amazing top leaders within Norwex.  I love when we get to come together and learn from each other. Events like this really give us the opportunity to connect on more of a personal level.  Once again, thank you Norwex for your generosity! I love that I am a part of a company who believes in investing in their senior leadership to help us succeed!
